Crop Tech is an agricultural consulting, laboratory and research operation based at Bundaberg, QLD. Crop Tech provides specialised services to growers, agricultural consultants, primary producer groups and support industries. The business has grown from the two directors, to a staff of 26 over the past 20 years, providing services throughout Australia, as well as Asia, Europe and America.
The key function of Crop Tech's business is to provide an Integrated Crop Management package that represents the worlds' best practices, whilst using environmentally responsible and sustainable technologies. Crop Tech promotes and uses unique technology for nutrition analysis and management, by using sap, soil, water, hydroponic and fruit testing, as well as the latest computerised soil moisture monitoring equipment, for advanced irrigation management.
This package also includes the monitoring of weather data for both crop pest and disease forecasting and Integrated Pest Management (IPM), to reduce reliance on chemical insecticides. The package is equally applicable in greenhouse or field situations.
Crop Tech has successfully licensed its unique technology to companies in Australia, Thailand and Japan. After initial contacts from international clients, a vision for a global company offering franchise businesses to the major horticultural producing areas, became the platform for international growth.
It was brought to fruition in 1999 and today a new Joint Venture is operating in Europe and America. The Joint Venture offers consulting packages to their clients covering nutrition, irrigation scheduling, as relating to nutrition management, and IPM. Each section of the package includes monitoring technology, training, support and software.
